Terms of Use

By accessing or using home-chef you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. We have tried to keep this readable; where a clause is blunt, it is because clarity matters more than courtesy.

1. Acceptance of terms

These terms form an agreement between you and home-chef. They cover your use of the website, its text, images, tools, and any content we make available. We may update them, and the version posted here is the one that applies.

2. License and permitted use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may view recipes, save a copy for your own cooking, and share a link to a recipe. You may not republish, sell, scrape, or systematically redistribute the content, and you may not use the site to build a competing product. This license does not transfer any ownership to you and it may be revoked if you breach these terms.

3. Intellectual property

All content on home-chef, including recipes, photographs, written guidance, design, and code, is owned by home-chef or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. The fact that a recipe describes a dish does not make the expression of it free to copy. If you want to reuse our work, ask first.

4. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to misuse the site. That means no attempts to disrupt it, no automated scraping at volume, no uploading of malware or abusive material, no impersonation, and no use of the site for anything unlawful. Bulk downloads and rehosting of our photographs are specifically prohibited. We may block access if we see conduct that threatens the site or other users.

5. User-submitted content

If you send us a recipe, a correction, or other material, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use, edit, and publish it on the site and in related materials. You represent that you have the right to share it and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. We are under no obligation to publish submitted material.

6. Third-party links

The site may link to external websites for ingredients, equipment, or reference. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those sites, and a link is not an endorsement. Your dealings with any third party are between you and them.

7. Advertising and affiliate disclosure

The site displays advertising served by third-party networks, including Google AdSense, and may contain affiliate links. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases through those links, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships are disclosed where they appear. Advertising never influences editorial content.

8. No professional advice

home-chef is a cooking site. Nothing here is medical, nutritional, dietary, or professional advice. If you have allergies, a medical condition, or specific dietary needs, consult a qualified professional before relying on any recipe or calculator result. The calorie calculator is an estimate, not a prescription.

9. Disclaimer of warranty

The site and its content are provided as is and as available. We work hard to keep recipes accurate and safe, but we make no warranty that they are error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. You use the content at your own risk, including ordinary kitchen risks like burns, cuts, and the occasional ruined dinner.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, home-chef and its people are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or its content. If a jurisdiction does not allow such a limitation, liability is limited to the fullest extent that jurisdiction permits.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify home-chef against claims arising from your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any rights of another, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. Termination and governing law

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Provisions that by nature should survive, such as intellectual property and limitation of liability, survive termination. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

13. Changes and contact

We may change these terms and will post the updated version here with a revised date. Continued use after a change means you accept it. If a change is significant we will say so on the page rather than burying it. Questions about these terms go to contact@ifood.cc.
